The Council for Professional Recognition promotes improved performance and recognition of entry-level professionals in early child care and education of children ages birth through five years old. The Council works to ensure that these professionals meet the developmental, emotional and educational needs of our nation's youngest children.

In keeping with its goal to meet the growing need for qualified child care staff, the Council administers the Child Development Associate (CDA) National Credentialing Program. The CDA Program is designed to assess and credential early childhood care and education professionals based on performance.

Families Thrive focuses on diminishing the damaging effects of exposure to domestic violence on children and youth and stopping the cycle of intentional injury and abuse through increasing awareness of the issue, forging and strengthening community partnerships, and building responsive systems for children, youth, and families.
